My most European weekend yet

So I’ve been living here in France for over 4 months now. I haven’t really felt like I’ve taken a part of French/ European culture yet, until this past weekend, that is.

One of the first things people think when they hear “Paris” is that it is the fashion capital of the world. So because of this, I must go shopping all of the time… right? WRONG! I have never been somewhere where clothes are so dang expensive. I could probably get a flight to another European country cheaper than I can get a cute dress. “Why don’t you just go to the sales rack the back of the store?”, you ask. Sales racks don’t exist here… except for twice a year. For three weeks in January there are winter sales in literally every store, so obviously I had to take advantage. A lot of things were so dang cheap…I tried to not go overboard though, because you know, suitcase probs.

Yes I only bought one clothing item…. sue me
Shopping with the Tour Eiffel in view? Doesn’t get more French than that!

The other super European thing I did this past weekend was attend a game of the Handball world championship. Handball isn’t even a thing in America. I never even heard of it until I got here. When my fellow au pair friend, Emilie (who is Danish) invited me to the game I was so excited. I don’t care what the sporting event is, I love going! The game was Denmark vs Egypt and it was so fun watching the 2 countries go crazy for their team! Also, Denmark won!!
